Design Data - Material Grades, Anchorage & Detailing Tables

What this standard covers

Design Data gathers the material grade tables and detailing rules an engineer looks up mid-calculation into one place: concrete, steel, reinforcement, bolt and cement grades, plus anchorage and lap lengths. It spans Eurocode, TCVN and AISC/ASTM, so a project working between codes does not need three references open.

Concrete covers the 14 Eurocode 2 strength classes from C12/15 upward with their characteristic and design values, alongside the 10 TCVN 5574 B-grades used in Vietnam - two systems that are not interchangeable, since one is based on cylinder strength and the other on cube strength. Steel covers the EN structural grades and the AISC/ASTM equivalents, which differ in both designation and yield.

Reinforcement lists 12 rebar grades across EN, ASTM, TCVN and BS, and bolts the 7 property classes from 4.6 to 10.9 with their geometry - areas, hole diameters and the minimum and maximum edge distances and spacings. Cement covers 9 types. Detailing gives anchorage and lap lengths, which depend on bond condition, bar size and concrete grade rather than on the bar alone.

Nothing here is re-entered: every table reads the same canonical data array the corresponding Standards page renders, so a value cannot drift between the two. Each category links back to that page, which remains the source of record and carries the full table with its clause references.

What each category covers

Concrete grades
The 14 Eurocode 2 strength classes (C12/15 to C90/105) with their characteristic and design strengths, tensile strength and modulus, alongside the 10 TCVN 5574 B classes - the two systems side by side rather than converted into one another.
Steel grades
The 4 EN 1993 structural grades (S235 to S460) with yield and ultimate strength including the thickness effect, and 8 AISC/ASTM grades with the shapes each is normally supplied in.
Rebar grades
12 reinforcement grades across the EN 10080, TCVN 1651, ASTM A615/A706 and BS 4449 systems, with characteristic yield, ductility class and the designation convention each system uses - a bar that is 'the same size' often is not the same grade.
Bolt data
The 7 EN 1993-1-8 property classes (4.6 to 10.9) with their strengths, plus the geometry a detailer needs: shank and thread areas for 15 sizes, hole clearances, and minimum and maximum end and edge distances.
Cement
9 cement types and 9 strength classes, with the early-strength designations - the choice that decides how fast a pour gains strength and when formwork can be struck.
Detailing
Anchorage and lap lengths for 11 concrete-grade rows each, straight and bent bars, in good and poor bond conditions, plus the 6 alpha coefficients that modify them - the tables reached for when reinforcement has to be terminated or spliced.

When to use this standard

Use Design Data when you already know what you are designing and just need a number: the design strength of a concrete class, the yield of a rebar grade, a bolt's tensile area, an anchorage length. It is a lookup surface, not a calculator and not a design code - every table links back to the Standards page that owns it, and the clause context, partial factors and application rules live there.
