What this standard covers
TCVN 5570:2012 is the Vietnamese standard for line types and gridline notation on building design drawings. It fixes which line weight and style carries which meaning, so a drawing reads the same way whoever produced it.
It is a drawing-presentation standard rather than a design code: it sets no resistances and no load values. Bảng 1 tabulates the line types - very thick continuous, thick continuous, thin continuous, dashed, chain and so on - with the application each is reserved for, and the standard requires every line to be drawn evenly, clearly and consistently for its type.
It replaced TCVN 5570:1991 and works alongside TCVN 8-20:2002 (ISO 128-20:1996), the general technical-drawing convention for lines that it references.
When to use this standard
Consult it when producing or checking Vietnamese construction drawings - deciding which line weight to use for a cut edge, an outline, a hidden feature or a gridline, and how gridlines are labelled. It governs presentation only, so it never affects a calculation.
